Pendleton Ward

Pendleton "Pen" Ward (born 1982) is an American animator, musician, screenwriter and producer. He has worked on cartoons such as The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack (2008), and created Adventure Time (2010).[1]

He has said in an interview that he was influenced by The Simpsons, Hayao Miyazaki's My Neighbor Totoro, David Lynch, The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, The Adventures of Tintin and The Office.[2]

Ward entered Frederator Studios when the vice-president, Eric Homan, contacted him after watching one of his films at the annual CalArts animation screenings.[3]
